Allyson Felix
Allyson Michael Felix is an Los Angeles native born on the 18th November 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix demonstrated a talent for sports early, and discovered her athletic abilities during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks, after the first time she tried out. Felix signed a contract for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record running 200m in 22.18 secs. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her becoming the youngest female to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. In 2007, she won the title by beating her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top 3 throughout her competitions at the Olympics that took place in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
